Hello all! It’s finally gotten cooler! Huzzah! Here’s just a quick post of what we’ve been doing this past September and October.
The weather has been absolutely perfect! Here’s after a rainstorm we had in September:
Last weekend we had a typhoon with heavy rain and some crazy wind that blew down this tree at my school:
We found another foreigner in town who has apparently been here for years! We just never met him, I guess. We visited his rugby practice for the school kids. These three managed to push the two of them a foot or so!
We hit up a new yakiniku restaurant called Bosuke. This stuff is good! This might have been my first time eating wagyu beef! Definitely worth the money!
…buuut, despite its goodness, the priciness is too much for us to come here regularly, so we returned to the yakiniku restaurant near our apartment, Namudaimon. Paul was given a complimentary tiny glass of beer:
I had two days that merited bentos. The first was tempura, fish, vegetables and chicken, and rice; the second (much more delicious) was katsu, pickled vegetables, and rice with an umeboshi. And a cup of miso soup!
Persimmon season! Someone brought a box to one of my schools to share. Delicious!
A cute doodle by a student:
And now that the weather is finally cold, the cats have decided they love us again. In particular, Olive loves sitting on Paul:
And that’s that! I hope you all have had a good past two months. I’m excited, because in two days Paul and I will be traveling to Kyoto for a five-day weekend!
Until then! またね！
