こんばんは！ Today was the first completely free Saturday I’ve had in a while, so I decided to try to make mochi again. Here are my takes one and two, and this time I used the recipe at Japanese Cooking 101.
My first attempt was an utter disaster – we didn’t realise until after I steamed the dough that the dry measuring cup I was using was slightly different! As a result, I put in too much flour, so the mochi came out of the steamer as a solid block of gelatin.
My second time around I used less flour, and the results were much better!
It was so soft! ^-^
Next time I’ll try to make daifuku – mochi balls stuffed with sweet fillings! Most commonly there is anko (sweet red bean paste) in the centre, but my absolute favourite is strawberry daifuku.
Until next time, またね！
